At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. Our 8,000 Switchers combine deep engineering expertise with cutting-edge digital technologies to deliver complex energy infrastructure. Join us in shaping the future of nuclear power and making a meaningful global impact.

🀝 Why Join the Community of Switchers?

As one of the top three largest nuclear engineering companies globally, Assystem plays a critical role in delivering major nuclear new build programmes. You will join a high-performing Project Controls community where Risk Management is fundamental to achieving safe, timely and cost-effective project delivery.

🌍

As Senior Risk Analyst, you will be an integral part of a Nuclear Power Station project, supporting delivery across Engineering, Procurement & Manufacturing, Construction and Commissioning.

The Risk function underpins three critical success factors:

  • Integrated baseline delivery

  • EPC critical path execution

  • Achievement of key milestones through to Commercial Operation Date (COD)

The role operates within:

  • A highly regulated nuclear environment overseen by the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR)

  • A deeply embedded Nuclear Safety Culture

  • A delivery framework prioritising Safety, Quality, Time and Cost β€” in that order

You will act as the face of Risk Management within your nominated Programme/Area, providing confidence to stakeholders that risks and opportunities are being robustly identified, analysed, managed and reported.

πŸ”Ž Key Responsibilities

Risk Governance & Assurance

  • Own and assure the integrity of Risk and Opportunity data within the programme risk system (e.g. ARM)

  • Ensure reporting is delivered to defined cycles with high-quality commentary on key drivers and performance impacts

  • Maintain a comprehensive and current risk portfolio reflective of the programme position

  • Review and challenge significant issues that may impact objectives

Risk Analysis & Integration

  • Analyse risk data and connect insights across the wider project in collaboration with Project Controls Managers and Risk Leads

  • Challenge uncertainties in risk data to support prioritisation and informed decision-making

  • Ensure schedule and cost estimates are informed by high-quality risk analysis at both delivery and portfolio levels

  • Support Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and related activities

Stakeholder Engagement & Workshops

  • Facilitate risk workshops, scenario planning sessions, and opportunity reviews

  • Support Programme/Area teams and, where appropriate, Tier 1 Contractors in assessing contractor-held risks

  • Provide expert insight at Programme Reviews, Board Meetings, ROTCs and Portfolio Risk Reviews

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce and present accurate, insightful Risk outputs using Power BI dashboards

  • Manage and verify dashboard data and propose improvements

  • Identify and implement enhancements to risk processes, reporting, and tools

  • Lead Risk Management and Risk software training across Programme/Area teams and the PM community

Qualifications

πŸŽ“ Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

  • Degree (desirable) in Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, or related discipline

  • Industry-recognised qualifications such as Management of Risk (MoR) Practitioner and/or APM Risk Level 2 (desirable)

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience as a Risk Management expert within major infrastructure or complex project environments

  • Strong knowledge of risk and wider project controls disciplines

  • Experience working in nuclear or other highly regulated industries (desirable)

  • Experience in construction or major capital projects (desirable)

🧠 Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to deliver concise, evidence-based risk insights to influence executive-level decision-making

  • Strong understanding of integration between risk, cost, schedule and change management

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • Confident facilitator capable of leading discussions with senior stakeholders and directors

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and delegate

  • High standards of governance, assurance and data integrity

  • Capability to coach and develop others in risk practices and software tools

  • Ability to implement industry best practice to drive improved performance
