Let's Write Africa's Story Together!

Old Mutual is a firm believer in the African opportunity and our diverse talent reflects this.

We are seeking an experienced reward professional to join the team on a permanent basis in a role that offers meaningful regional scope and visibility across the Old Mutual Africa Regions (OMAR) portfolio. This opportunity provides significant exposure across African markets and close partnership with Old Mutual Africa Regions (OMAR) country stakeholders on compensation, benefits, incentives, job evaluation and reward analytics. It is ideally suited to a commercially astute reward practitioner who brings strong technical depth, sound judgement and the ability to translate complex data and market insight into practical, business-relevant reward solutions.

1.1 What You’ll Do

  • Support the design and delivery of reward programmes across compensation, benefits and incentives in line with business and people priorities across the OMAR portfolio.

  • Partner with OMAR country stakeholders across African markets to support reward governance, implementation and market-informed decision-making.

  • Lead or coordinate annual remuneration and benefits review processes, including benchmarking, modelling and market analysis.

  • Provide trusted reward advice on job evaluation, grading, pay positioning, incentive design and policy interpretation.

  • Develop reward analysis, dashboards and insights to support decision-making and highlight trends, risks and opportunities.

  • Apply strong data analytics capability to interpret reward data, generate meaningful insight and support evidence-based recommendations.

  • Contribute to reward proposals, governance papers and business cases with clear, credible and commercially sound recommendations.

  • Work closely with HR, payroll, business stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective delivery of reward processes.

  • Help maintain reward practices that are competitive, equitable, compliant and operationally robust.

1.2 What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a high-calibre reward professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial judgement, stakeholder confidence and the ability to work effectively across multiple countries and business contexts.

  • A relevant degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.

  • Proven reward experience within a corporate or similarly complex environment, with strong exposure to compensation, benefits, incentive design, reward analytics and annual reward review processes.

  • Sound understanding of reward principles, market practice and relevant governance or regulatory considerations.

  • Strong Excel capability and confidence in preparing presentations, reports and decision-support material.

  • Demonstrated ability to work confidently with data analytics, interpret reward data and translate findings into clear business insight and recommendations.

  • Exposure to working across multiple African countries or within a regional portfolio will be advantageous.

  • A professional reward, HR or analytics-related qualification will be advantageous.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, practical and commercially relevant insight.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

  • Confidence partnering across countries, functions and levels within the organisation.

  • Clear written and verbal communication capability.

  • Professional judgement, discretion and comfort working with sensitive and confidential information.

  • A proactive, collaborative and adaptable working style.

1.3 Why Join Us

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a meaningful and visible role with broad regional exposure across OMAR countries. You will work across a diverse African portfolio, partner with senior stakeholders and apply your reward expertise in a way that combines technical depth, analytical rigour and tangible business impact.

If you are ready to take on a rewarding regional role with meaningful exposure and impact, we encourage you to submit your application.
