
Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £41,184 (including sleeps)
Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Rolling rota – 2 on, 4 off (12-hour shifts) with one additional day per month (192–206 hours per month)
Employment Type: Permanent
Sleep-ins: 2–3 per week (included within salary)
Service: Children’s Home
Service Users: Children aged 7–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or currently enrolled
Experience Required: Experience within Residential Children’s Services or similar setting supporting children with challenging behaviour

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader who is passionate about supporting children with complex needs. This role is suited to someone ready to step up or take the next step in their career within a supportive and progressive organisation.
You will act as the lead practitioner on shift, supporting, mentoring, and coaching team members while ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered.

You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care (this is not deemed equivalent).
Candidates with only HealthCare, NHS, CQC, or Nursery Practitioner qualifications will not be considered.

Individuals with only CQC experience and who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home will not be considered.
