We are currently recruiting Senior Residential Care Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in our Residential Care Homes in Northwest Tasmania.
Successful candidate will alternate working 7 days on (24/7 sleepover) before having 7 days off. The position will be well remunerated on an annualised salary given this model and hours of work. Reporting to the House Manager, these positions will be supported by a team of local Residential Support Workers. This role is not paid in line with the SCHADS award rate and runs on a max-term contract consistent with the individual young person’s salaried care package. The successful person will be well-remunerated on an annualised salary given the intensive model and hours of work ($190,600 base + 12% super). The key responsibilities of the Senior Residential Care Workers are to provide 24/7 care, support, and supervision to children and young people to ensure their personal and development needs are met in a home environment.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the tenacity, enthusiasm, and experience to support children or young people (some of whom may have challenging behaviours and may require trauma informed responses) in a positive and engaging family home environment.
The role requires someone who can quickly build strong and enduring positive relationships, ensuring developmentally appropriate and tailored activities and support. We need someone who is responsible, flexible in their approach (every day will be unique), calm (even when things get tough!) and who is passionate about supporting our children and young people to feel safe and secure.
Each day in the home will be unique and will be tailored to the needs of the children or young people you are looking after, however the successful candidates will also be responsible for all aspects of maintaining a home including cooking, cleaning, washing, transportation to school and activities etc.
Experience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) will be highly regarded.
