The Reservoir Engineer supports the identification, screening and evaluation of upstream oil and gas investment opportunities across the company’s New Ventures and Business Development portfolio.
The role provides reservoir engineering expertise across exploration, appraisal, development and producing assets, supporting opportunity screening, technical due diligence and investment decision-making. The position works closely with geologists, geophysicists and commercial teams to assess reservoir performance, development feasibility and resource potential.
The ideal candidate will bring global upstream experience, having worked across multiple countries, basins and operating environments, with the ability to rapidly assess reservoir performance and development potential in support of investment decision-making.
Expert-level technical knowledge of reservoir engineering principles, analysis methodologies, and how to apply advanced techniques to subsurface evaluation. Strategic understanding of how reservoir performance drives asset value and business performance. Ability to establish technical strategy and direction for reservoir portfolios.
Deep understanding of upstream oil and gas operations across diverse operating environments, regulatory regimes, and basin characteristics. Knowledge of exploration, appraisal, development, and producing asset management. Understanding of upstream value chains from exploration through production and reserves depletion.
Comprehensive knowledge of resource/reserves estimation methodologies, probabilistic assessment, and regulatory compliance requirements. Understanding of material balance, decline curve, and volumetric approaches. Knowledge of reserves auditing and third-party verification processes.
Advanced understanding of field development concepts, well spacing decisions, recovery mechanisms, and production optimization. Knowledge of enhanced recovery methods and infill drilling opportunities. Understanding of production forecasting and economic evaluation of development scenarios.
