Major tasks
The Senior Researcher is a leading contributor to science, technology and innovation for a Product or Business Line to support Covestro business strategy and ensure market success of newly developed concepts in CA ( Coating & Adhesive) energy curing systems.
Guide project members, coach associate scientists and lab technicians, (co-)leading the execution of the assigned R&D activities and ensuring appropriate registration of the results. Introducing, utilizing and expanding digital and AI-assisted scientific methodologies and tools.
Generate and deliver (as a co-author) complex projects, new concepts and scientific innovations. Coordinate activities and progress with relevant technical, business and product management stakeholders to optimize the value of CA ( Coating & Adhesive) energy curing innovation efforts.
Technical project lead or senior contributor for regional development projects. Ensure execution of a scientific work plan for new technologies or business projects according to market needs by combining the right scientific and business input, monitoring, executing and supporting the experimental work.
Maintain awareness of IP opportunities and threats; generate proprietary IP and conduct freedom-to-operate studies.
Develop external reputation in scientific and technological societies. Share, communicate and disseminate knowledge in the areas of relevant unique competencies.
Collaborate regularly on university projects within own area of expertise.

Provide value to the customer and support CA ( Coating & Adhesive) profitable growth by applying unique scientific expertise and knowledge to area of competence. Has a solid track record of scientific developments in this area of competence.
Shape and drive CA innovation pipeline by executing and supporting new concepts and products. Implement scientific methods to improve scale-up and optimization production.

Qualifications and Experiences
University degree (M.Sc. or preferably Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Physics or Material Science with relevant business experience including customer contacts and customer driven projects.
Extensive knowledge of CA ( Coating & Adhesive) Technology in specified area including relevant applications.
Show good skills of problem-solving ability, self-development, willingness and ability to collaborate and of strategic thinking.
At least >5 years of relevant experience in area of expertise.
Proven track record of applied scientific innovation, quantified by supported business projects and granted patents.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Integrative and inclusive, feels comfortable interacting with middle and higher management.
Fluent English proficiency.
