Huawei Technologies Stockholm Research Center is looking for a research Expert to contribute innovative concepts and standardization for future Core Networks. In our team, Cloud Core Network research and standardization team, we are ushering in new era of current and future mobile networks for new Scenarios, new applications and architecture, Protocol.

As part of our research and standards team, you will be responsible for generating and evaluating innovative ideas for next generation core networks with AI-related technologies. You will be in the absolute forefront of new technology creating new solutions for future mobile networks. The work place is Stockholm in Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Research for next generation Mobile Core Network. Focusing on integration of AI and communication, including AI for network and network for AI.
• Lead new generation AI-driven Core Network for new scenarios, new applications, new architecture and new solutions, using of state-of-the-art AI technologies, especially Generative AIs or Large language Models (LLMs).
• Write technical standards papers and contribute to standardization.
• Technical implementation of prototypes and of proof-of-concept systems, particularly for Core network Architecture technologies and components.
• Communicate and cooperate with telecom operators on the next generation core network research.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree (preferred) in Telecommunications, Computer Science or related fields.
• Strong knowledge in Mobile Core Network communications.
• At least 5 years of research experience in Mobile Core Network.
• Experience in working in or collaborating with telecom operators.
• Strong knowledge in AI/ML especially Generative AIs or LLMs (Large language models).
• Research experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine learning is better.
• Experience from industry organizations such as 3GPP SA1/2, SNS JU and Networld Europe is a plus.
• High skills in team work and interpersonal communication as well as building relationships.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English is required.
