As a Requirements Engineer III and a member of a dynamic and multi-functional Agile development team, you will be responsible for developing user requirements for the purpose of creating software products that support efficient workflows and laboratory best practices. You will help build the vision of the product to meet customer needs, strategic direction, expected delivery dates, and exceptional quality standards. To be successful in this role you need a real passion for quality software, a dedication to customer satisfaction, and an ability to work effectively in a matrix organization. Essential Functions
Researches and applies knowledge of industry, domain, workflows, and personas to create requirements that reflect user needs, strategic direction, and project scope
Assess the business value of the work and suggest improvements to improve overall quality for the end user
Leads estimation process and helps control project timelines through highlighting risks in the overall development process.
Continually engages with product team members and appropriate client personas to validate deliverables and to ensure that requirements will satisfy the intended purpose
Effectively prioritizes the requirements backlog to address functional and non-functional needs and to provide accuracy and predictability of delivery
Understand data structures and data flow between systems
Ability to represent product workflows and requirements in appropriate visual or graphical representations (i.e. process flow diagram, data flowchart, wireframes, low fidelity prototypes, etc.)
Demonstrates product enhancements to internal and external stakeholders
Gain a strong product knowledge and understanding of the healthcare market, client business drivers, and user personas
Build relationships with external clients, internal partners, and leadership
Mentors requirements engineers

Ability to understand and explain the functionality, workflows, interactions, and client usage for the assigned product
Understanding of approaches used to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks to reduce or eliminate potential threats to patient safety or the business
Ability to represent product workflows as a graphical overview of the flow of data, tasks, or user actions
Confidence to explain the business drivers, user personas, etc. for the assigned product area

Drive and persistence to seek information proactively and take actions necessary to accomplish a goal.
Ensures that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure.
Ability to work across teams and understand impacts of integration points during the software development lifecycle.
Understand application and system level integrations across various Clinisys product lines.
Experience with a variety of AI tools
Required Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, or laboratory testing related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
5-7 years’ experience with the following:
Communicating with technical and subject matter experts
Software development life cycle
Working in a commercial software engineering environment
AI Skills Requirement:
Candidates must have hands‑on experience with AI and machine learning frameworks and demonstrate an AI‑first mindset when approaching software quality. The Software Test Engineer is expected to support the integration and validation of AI‑driven features within software solutions, ensuring they are reliable, testable, and aligned with business and quality standards.
The role requires the ability to apply data‑driven insights to assess model behavior, identify quality risks, and validate AI‑enabled functionality throughout its lifecycle. Candidates should collaborate closely with development teams on AI‑related quality practices and are expected to mentor junior developers and test engineers in adopting effective and responsible AI testing and quality approaches.
Preferred Experience & Education
Direct experience working within a lab
Knowledge of scientific data software, medical devices, or healthcare software
Experience designing commercial software
