About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

The Workforce Planning and Analytics team is looking for a Senior Reporting Analyst to join our friendly, dynamic and collaborative team. This is a great opportunity to support ACC by delivering workforce analytics and insights. We are looking to better leverage workforce information across our HRIS systems to be able to tell a connected data story. As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you will design, implement, and maintain people focused reporting, analysis, insights and support workforce initiatives. The Senior Reporting Analyst utilises best practice methodology for workforce analysis and insight generation and is experienced with sensitive information handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take the lead in the effective and efficient production of information, data analysis and insight to better understand business performance and inform decision making.
  • Design and deliver dashboards and business intelligence solutions to effectively monitor and interpret organisational performance.
  • Conduct analysis, modelling, and scenario testing to support the evaluation and implementation of proposed initiatives.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and relationships in complex datasets using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Develop predictive models to inform enterprise-wide workforce strategies and planning.

You enjoy working with data to uncover insights, solving problems through structured analysis, and collaborating with others to drive business decisions. You are someone who thrives in a team environment, has a methodical approach to work, and enjoys developing analytical models, dashboards, and generating insights to tell a story with data.

Essential Skills

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or at least 3-5 years experience in analytics and insights
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience conveying complex, technical information to non-technical persons
  • Well-developed analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the desire to probe deeper into data with the ability to formulate well-reasoned solutions
  • Strong understanding of statistical techniques and concepts
  • Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple deliverables, and deliver to deadlines
  • Experience developing, testing and maintaining dashboards and data visualisations in a business intelligence tool (Power BI preferable)
  • Querying data with SQL and working with relational databases
  • Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships, particularly the ability to gain credibility with senior people leaders
  • Desirable Skills:
  • You will have senior level experience using HRIS and payroll systems (Oracle preferable)
  • Experience in programming languages R and/or Python
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferable)
  • Capability in applying advanced statistical analysis techniques
  • Capability in developing predictive models and using machine learning
  • Experience with ETL tools (such as DBT) and developing data pipelines

The appointing salary for this role will sit between $101,287 and $125,000 depending on skills and experience, and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution.
