Senior Renewables Business Development / Commercial Manager - Renewables and BESS

In this role, you will drive the growth of our UK renewables and battery storage portfolio from origination through to financial close. You will shape strategy, secure opportunities, and lead a team to deliver projects that make a real difference.

What You'll Do

- Originate and develop renewable energy and BESS projects across the UK, from site identification through to financial close
- Identify and secure new land rights, establishing commercial, planning, community, and technical strategies for each site
- Lead and close large platform acquisitions comprising operating assets, development pipelines, and teams
- Manage all landowner relationships and contractual obligations through design, planning, construction, and beyond
- Assess markets and technologies to target the strongest opportunities for next-generation project sites
- Lead a team of grid and land experts to bring projects to "ready to build" stage
- Develop revenue strategies including corporate PPAs and participation in CFD auctions

What You Bring

- Demonstrable track record of delivering renewable projects with aggregate capacity of at least 250 MW in the UK
- Deep understanding of M&A principles involving renewable platforms and ready-to-build acquisitions
- Intimate knowledge of UK planning, permitting, and grid connection processes
- Strong relationships with key stakeholders including developers, planning consultants, and grid consultants
- Conversant with route-to-market options including CFDs and corporate PPAs
- Detailed understanding of capital costs, O&M costs, and EPC contracting for solar PV, onshore wind, and batteries
- Degree qualified with relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience
- UK driving licence and ability to travel nationally
- Pro-active self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Location

United Kingdom — Hybrid working arrangement, combining remote flexibility with regular site visits and office collaboration.
