Job: Senior Reliability Technician

Shift: Nights 6:00PM-6:30AM; 223 Rotating Shift + $3 shift differential for nights

Location: Royal Canin (Fremont, NE)

Reliability Tech II should have the ability to troubleshoot various competencies: Advanced pneumatic, basic hydraulic, AC/DC electrical systems, automation (PLC and Instrumentation), automation, machining, and mechanical systems on all process and packaging equipment with minimal guidance. As part of a team, properly maintain and repair equipment in a fast paced, high production work environment, while prioritizing multiple mechanical/electrical and administrative tasks. Reliability Tech IIs will be able to train junior technicians on technical and administrative skills. They will also be a main escalation point on shift to ensure issues are resolved quickly and planned work is completed or passed on to next shift.

Key Accountabilities-

  • Practice safety and support team safety awareness
  • Assist with completion of team workload as scheduled
  • Ensure information is entered in the CMMS to track utilization and feedback is given on all work completed during shift
  • Coordinate and prioritize assigned daily workload.
  • Ensure major issues are recorded and communicated to upper management.
  • Ensure issues and temporary repairs are escalated to Area Maintenance Leads and oncoming shift to ensure plan to fully resolve is in process.
  • Support team with positive motivation and team engagement.
  • Mentor junior technicians on maintenance practices and all technical disciplines needed to be successful as a technician.
  • Be a main point of contact for first escalations from operations to ensure these issues are resolved quickly.
  • Suggest and work on continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero losses due to equipment failures and technical issues.
  • Participate in RCA on equipment and process failures to provide insight and suggest corrective actions.
  • Audit PMs and task lists, giving feedback on improvement ideas and ensuring all parts listed are accurate.
  • Give feedback to Area Maintenance Leads on scheduled work to ensure work is completed accurately and completely.
  • Communicate effectively on shift and to the technical team to ensure any support requests are fulfilled.
  • Basic MIG and TIG welding ability for repairs.
  • Ensure storeroom processes are followed correctly to ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Other duties as assigned by Area Maintenance Leads and Reliability Manager.


Key Critical Competencies-

  • Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC Electrical components (up to 480VAC 3 Phase) including motor starters, switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner at the component level on all assigned equipment, i.e. sorting systems and palletizing robots
  • Willingness to develop required technical skills
  • Ability to train on technical skills applicable to role
  • Significant troubleshooting capability
  • Conflict management
  • PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to engage and work with vendors to complete projects
  • Food safety, ISO, HACCP, Food processing and materials conversion
  • Excellent technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Organizational and time management skills

Qualifications-

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Electro/Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Associates degree in a Technical discipline, preferably Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • 6+ years of experience as Electro/Mechanical Tech in manufacturing setting
