Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Reliability Engineering:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas of Asset Reliability including but not limited to; Root Cause Analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), KPI Development, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Preventative Maintenance Task Optimization, Operator Care, and Total Proactive Maintenance.
  • Implement Rx matrix levels and perform audits for GSC sites progressing through the reliability excellence matrix.
  • Develop and Leverage Standard Maintenance Practices (SMP) at Global Supply Chain (GSC) sites.
  • Develop and Leverage program documents including the Rx matrix, and engineering standards, guidelines, and references.
  • Mentor division Reliability Engineers and field leaders in the area of Reliability Excellence.
  • Support GSC sites in reaching all Rx metrics goals.When needed perform audits and support actions to ensure sustainability in the Rx program
  • Oversee the development and implementation of division standard maintenance procedures.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of reliability data to support company, division, region, and site initiatives. Make recommendations and lead improvements implementations.
  • Develops predictive and preventative maintenance procedures/programs for use at manufacturing sites and distribution service centers.
  • Lead topics in Reliability Bootcamps (Rx), site training on the Sherwin Reliability program
  • Work with Rest of World (ROW) regional resources to ensure implementations and sustainability of all levels or Rx
  • Performs critical and in-depth analysis of maintenance and production data to initiate and lead RX related improvement projects.

Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS):

  • Provide support to site personnel and assist other Rx engineers, on CMMSs like Oracle eAM and Maintenance Connection, and provide first call response to issues from users in GSC
  • Works with eAM Business Team to develop system enhancements support the RX initiative.
  • Provide input and assist with the implementation, enhancement and upgrade of the Oracle eAM system - as needed.
  • Lead training of new users to CMMSs.

Project Management:

  • Lead Reliability Excellence continuous improvement projects. This role includes the use of structured problem solving and project management methodologies.
  • Incumbent will lead project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.Take the lead on Core Team, continuously improve the Reliability Excellence program, and eAM system to meet Sherwin’s needs.
  • Prioritize multiple projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • May attend outside contractor bid walk meetings at the beginning of equipment installation in the field and through project implementation to gain process knowledge.
  • Provides Reliability Engineering related design input as a member of the project team for smaller capital and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Participate in design review process for capital projects.
  • Participate in new process or facility commissioning and start-ups.

Engineering Services:

  • Coordinates training sessions during Reliability Bootcamps (Rx), site training on the Sherwin Reliability program
  • Utilizes effective working relationships with peers in the Global Supply Chain Engineering Services, Quality, and Safety Groups.
  • Established and effective relationships with Plant Engineers and Plant management, outside contractors and vendors.
  • and coordinates teams on purchases of process, packaging, and/or material handling equipment based upon experiences.
  • Leadership role in the Factory Acceptance Testing process when requested at vendor facility
  • Provides key input for selecting and qualifying equipment vendors and contractors to minimize faulty construction, time delays, and lawsuits.
  • Development of Systems, Tools and Processes
  • Functional knowledge of technology used in the manufacture and packaging of coatings.
  • Functional knowledge of tools needed to have a positive effect on plant safety, operating costs, quality, service and personnel.
  • Develop and lead tactical efforts on divisional strategic projects

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering related field.
  • 6 Years of experience in Engineering, Operations, or a technical field
  • Good interpersonal skills, project management knowledge, organization skills, leadership skills, decision making ability, relationship building

Preferred:

  • 8 Years’ experience in working in the field of asset reliability
  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional CMRP Certified
  • Green Belt Certified
  • Experience with Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Maintenance

Technical Skills:

  • Subject Matter Expert – 3 + Years in Reliability
  • Process Design - Consult
  • Budget / Bid / Quote - Lead
  • Design Peer Review - Consult
  • Engineering Standards – Develop / Review
  • Equipment / Preferred Vendor – Recommend
