Position Summary

The Senior Relationship Manager, Supplier Performance Management is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the development and delivery of actionable supplier performance insights through the Enterprise Vendor Management Policy and the Enterprise Supplier Performance Review (ESPR) program, with a dedicated focus on Enterprise IT and Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology (DDAT) supplier relationships. The role supports vendor management best practices and translates qualitative and quantitative feedback into business-relevant intelligence that informs supplier strategy, performance improvement, risk management, and sourcing decisions across CVS Health.

This position partners closely with Enterprise IT, DDAT, Procurement, Enterprise Third-Party Risk Management (ETPRM), Information Security, Legal, Finance, business owners, and third-party suppliers. It is not a traditional analytics or technical engineering role; success requires vendor management, sourcing, category management, and technology-services fluency, along with strong business judgment and the ability to influence decisions through insight, narrative, and executive-ready recommendations.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working across complex technology supplier ecosystems, including SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, managed services, cybersecurity, data and analytics, AI-enabled services, digital product support, and technology consulting. The role requires enough technical acumen to understand service models, operational dependencies, security and privacy considerations, implementation risk, SLAs/KPIs, incidents, and roadmap commitments, while remaining focused on supplier performance, governance, value realization, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Insight Development and Delivery

  • Serve as the primary owner of ESPR-derived insights, intelligence, and reporting delivered to Enterprise IT, DDAT, business owners, category leaders, and supplier stakeholders for assigned technology categories.
  • Interpret and synthesize ESPR feedback alongside performance trends, service-level performance, incident history, risk indicators, contract context, technology roadmap commitments, security and privacy considerations, and compliance requirements to produce actionable, real-world insights.
  • Develop executive-level narratives and materials that clearly articulate implications, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for technology supplier relationships.
  • Evolve ESPR outputs from descriptive scorecards to forward-looking intelligence that supports proactive decision-making, renewal strategy, supplier remediation, technology roadmap alignment, and governance prioritization.

Enterprise IT and DDAT Vendor Management Support

  • Partner with technology stakeholders to connect supplier performance insights to operational outcomes such as reliability, issue resolution, SLA/KPI attainment, implementation quality, user experience, data/security posture, cost/value delivery, innovation, and business continuity.
  • Facilitate performance discussions that translate technical concerns into supplier-level action plans, using plain-language narratives that are credible with both technologists and business executives.
  • Support corrective action planning with suppliers when recurring service issues, chronic SLA misses, implementation delays, security or compliance concerns, renewal risks, or stakeholder dissatisfaction indicate a need for structured remediation.
  • Maintain awareness of technology vendor management practices, including lifecycle governance, vendor tiering, evidence retention, performance scorecards, Strategic Business Review discipline, third-party risk controls, and exit or transition readiness.
  • Lead ESPR-driven discussions in vendor business reviews, technology governance forums, and performance reviews, engaging supplier leadership with data-backed perspectives and practical recommendations.
  • Challenge assumptions and established viewpoints, internally and externally, using sound analysis, technology context, business impact, and supplier performance evidence.

Program Growth, Enablement, and Governance

  • Contribute to the expansion and maturation of ESPR within Enterprise IT and DDAT, including increased supplier participation, business owner adoption, and use of ESPR insights in governance and renewal discussions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to demonstrate ESPR value and embed insights into sourcing, supplier management, technology governance, risk management, and performance review processes.
  • Support ongoing refinement of ESPR methodologies, category-specific questionnaires, benchmarks, reporting standards, and action plan practices for technology supplier environments.
  • Participate in ESPR governance, planning, performance tracking, and stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment with regulatory, compliance, security, privacy, financial, operational, and risk requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Technology Management, Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, vendor management, supplier performance management, technology procurement, IT service management, consulting, or a related discipline.
  • Experience engaging suppliers in formal performance reviews, business reviews, governance forums, corrective action discussions, or issue remediation activities.
  • Working familiarity with enterprise technology environments, including one or more of the following: SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, managed services, cybersecurity, data and analytics, AI-enabled services, digital platforms, software implementation, or technology consulting.
  • Ability to interpret supplier performance information, stakeholder feedback, service-level metrics, issue trends, contract context, and risk considerations and convert them into executive-ready recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting or managing Enterprise IT, DDAT, technology sourcing, software, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital, data, analytics, or managed services supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk management, information security review processes, privacy requirements, access governance, business continuity, disaster recovery, or technology control frameworks.
  • Experience using supplier performance platforms, vendor management systems, procurement systems, third-party analytics providers, ITSM tools, dashboards, or performance scorecards.
  • Experience supporting technology supplier Strategic Business Reviews, renewal preparation, transition or exit planning, implementation reviews, incident post-mortems, or roadmap alignment discussions.
