This individual is instrumental in driving retention, satisfaction, relationship deepening, and growth across institutional client segments—including public and corporate defined benefit plans, defined contribution investment only (DCIO) plan sponsors, endowments and foundations through their extensive network of field consultants within the assigned region. This role owns and is responsible for ensuring best in class coverage of key field consultants within the particular region and is an integral part of the Consultant Relations team, reporting to the Head of U.S. Consultant Relations and OCIO.

The Senior Field Consultant Relationship Manager builds and nurtures relationships with key field consultants, serving as a trusted advisor and influencing decision-making to enhance value for both clients and prospects of T. Rowe Price. The role requires demonstrated leadership in matrixed environments, leveraging firm resources in collaboration with the Americas’ Relationship Management (RM) and investment teams to consistently deliver industry-leading Client service. The successful candidate will primarily engage field consultants in sophisticated investment and capital markets discussions, positioning T. Rowe Price’s multi-asset and beyond-mandate capabilities as solutions to clients’ complex challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Broaden and deepen the firm’s relationships with key field consultants within the region in order to retain and grow institutional client relationships by delivering superior, advisory-level service and strategic guidance, requiring frequent travel and extensive communication with field consultants, as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Develop solution-oriented partnerships by understanding the challenges and priorities of field consultants and their institutional clients, leveraging firm resources to foster trust and identify opportunities for asset growth.
  • Utilize consultative and commercial expertise across T. Rowe Price’s entire investment platform—equities, fixed income, multi-asset, private credit, and alternatives—while ensuring coordination with colleagues in Consultant Relations who are responsible for covering central research.
  • Lead the development and execution of robust field consultant specific account plans in the firm’s CRM system, collaborating closely with Americas’ RM and investment teams to drive retention and sales opportunities.
  • Oversee and respond to complex information requests from field consultants and their clients, synthesizing multiple sources of information into cohesive, actionable recommendations.
  • Guide team members in preparing technical materials and responses, ensuring they align with best practices and support cross-sell leads with the mutual clients shared with particular field consultants.
  • Serve as an industry expert on consultant channel trends, regulatory requirements, and competitor offerings; provide critical voice-of-client feedback to inform business initiatives and position T. Rowe Price as a leading strategic resource to institutional asset allocators.
  • Drive new processes and strategies to deepen consultant engagement and expand firm visibility within the field consultant channel.
  • Assess risk across client relationships through a strong rapport and access to key field consultants.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 15+ years of institutional experience with a proven track record of developing and expanding relationships with institutional investors and critically, their field consultants.
  • Deep connectivity with key field consultants that influence client and prospect decision making.
  • Demonstrated appreciation for trends and buying behaviors in institutional client segments and consultant-driven mandates.
  • Advanced knowledge of equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative investment strategies; strong grasp of capital markets, portfolio management, and asset allocation.
  • Superior relationship-building skills, executive presence, and subject matter expertise.
  • Reputation as a consensus-driven influencer and trusted advisor.
  • Ability to assess and signal risk across relationships and strategies, and drive coordinated retention efforts.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills; recognized as a collaborative and diplomatic team player.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Personal presence and presentation skills that command respect from clients, consultants, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and goal-oriented; reputation for integrity and service excellence.
