ANZ’s Business & Agri teams support small-to-medium businesses, from those starting out with simple business needs to larger businesses that require more specialised support as they grow. Our strategy is to help Kiwis start, buy and sustainably grow their business. We do this by delivering to our customer value proposition of making banking easier through digital capability and automation, connecting customers to specialists and new opportunities, and delivering insights that add value and drive sustainability.

As a Senior Relationship Manager - Agri, you’ll play a key role in helping to support and enhance the financial wellbeing of our Agri clients across the Canterbury and West Coast area. You will form part of the Canterbury & West Coast Business & Agri senior leadership team and will work diligently to strengthen ANZ’s market profile across the sector and manage complex credit deals and high-value Agri portfolios.

As a Senior Relationship Manager, you will:

• Grow, Develop and maintain a portfolio of larger-scale and more complex Agri clients, promoting sustainable long-term client relationships
• Build and maintain a superior market presence, drive customer growth and be the face of ANZ to key Agri clients and partners across the region
• Proactively seek to enhance relationship with networks and customers to foster collaboration, seek new business opportunities and strengthen ANZ’s profile across the region
• Role model good customer outcomes and make banking easier for customers by understanding their needs and developing insightful, tailored solutions
• Provide ongoing leadership, coaching support, and development for Relationship staff across the wider Canterbury region

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• A successful track record in customer relationship and risk management, particularly in dealings with medium to large scale Agri businesses over a period of time
• Proven strong business development capability and experience with building broad community networks
• An extensive network and key commercial connections across the region
• Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in effective coaching, able to support others through change and adapt to new environments or ways of working
• Sound communication skills that adapt style for audience and build proposals that meet customer needs, combining technical skills with confidence in discussions
• Proven sound financial analysis and decision-making skills
• Ability to be flexible and adaptive, working across multiple teams while supporting key portfolios.
