About the Role:The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage and help set up Synpulse’s new Centre of Excellence’s Reinsurance Operations Team which we are building to support a UK based specialist (Re) Insurance client company. The role is required to provide comprehensive review, analysis, reporting and control to support the client’s business in all reinsurance aspects.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:- Responsibility for theaccuracy ofthe client’sreinsurance contract entryandquarterly internal risk reviews.
- Ownership ofthe production and review of the quarterly ultimate reinsurance recoveries for theclient.
- Sign off responsibility for theaccuracy ofkey outputs prior to distribution to the widerclientbusiness.
- Representthe client’sCeded Reinsurancefunctionat group peer review and claims committeeincluding ownership ofqueriesraised by internal stakeholders where appropriate.
- Work in collaboration withclient stakeholders from thefinance, actuarial & ceded RIfunctionsto investigate/ resolvevariances
- Represent theclient’sCeded Reinsurancefunction on current and future client projects.
- Supportclient administration managers on complex reinsurance issues as required.
- Provide ad-hocassistanceto theclient’sAdministrationManagers,includingclearing any other peer review backlog that may exist.
- Assurenew reinsurancecommitmentsarealigned with the client’soperating model.
- Providetechnical support and consultation to theclient’sCeded Reinsurance system transformationprogramme.
- Active involvement inongoingdevelopment of theclient’s reinsurance administration procedures and systems.
- Provide any other technical support necessary to assist theclientOperations Manager with the successful delivery of the Ceded Reinsurance strategy.
- Lead monthly internal team credit control meetings, determine actions required for older unsettled accounts.
- Provide technical support tointernaland external auditprocessesas required.
- Improve and review thequality, accuracy and timeliness of the controls in place to support close processes.
- Drive improvements in efficiency and control leading to increased accuracy more timely processing.
- Management ofcirca3CededReinsuranceTecnicians(initially)with the possibility for future team expansion.
- Drive team growth throughdevelopment,coachingand mentoring of team members.
Requirements

- Proven ability toprioritizeand organizeworkloadeffectively and work with speed and accuracy
- Outcome focused,self-motivatedand able to meet deadlines
- A strong working knowledge of reinsurance including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and associated processes, controls and systems (relevant experience in a Reinsurer/Broker would be a plus)
- Ability to work flexibly to complete duties of the role, particularly during peak periods
- Working knowledge of relevant trends and information within the insurance industry
- Technical and/or analytic expertise that can be adapted to current technologies
- Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/ deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners and internal teams
- Knowledgeof London market reinsurance administrationis a plus - ideallywith a detailed understanding of all types of reinsurance
- Provide trainingand mentoring to team-members to supportlearning and development
- Process transformation and control improvement experience is a plus
Qualifications and Experience
- Finance or Economics degree(progress towards an accountancy or audit professional qualification is considered a plus)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in an insurance/reinsurance company
- Experience in ceded reinsuranceis desired but not essential
- English language proficiency (C1 or above)
