We are looking for a passionate Senior Rehabilitation and Ecology Consultant to join our Brisbane office.
You will be part of a national team of rehabilitation specialists, ecologists, environmental scientists, soil specialists and mine closure practitioners, working on multidisciplinary projects across the mining, energy, infrastructure and resources sectors.
Your role will primarily focus on supporting mine rehabilitation, ecological restoration and environmental monitoring projects. You will assist clients with rehabilitation planning, ecological and rehabilitation assessments, mine closure studies, land capability evaluations, environmental monitoring programs and biodiversity management initiatives.
Day-to-day, you will:
You have studied an Environmental Science, Ecology, Biological Sciences, Natural Resource Management or related discipline.
You're likely to have previous consulting or industry experience in environmental assessments, ecological monitoring, rehabilitation, soil science or land management across Queensland or elsewhere in Australia.
You will also bring the following experience and attributes:
Knowledge of native flora identification, biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration principles.
Experience undertaking environmental monitoring and field-based investigations.
Experience with soil sampling, soil profile logging, land resource assessments or land capability assessments.
Strong technical report writing, data analysis and communication skills.
Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation and approvals processes.
Experience with GIS, GPS, field data collection systems and spatial datasets.
Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong organisational, client liaison and project management skills.
A passion for ecology, rehabilitation, conservation and natural resource management.
Mine rehabilitation, mine closure or Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP) experience.
Environmental monitoring involving soils, vegetation, groundwater, surface water or sediment.
Soil science, land capability or land resource assessment experience.
Experience managing multidisciplinary environmental investigations.
Bush regeneration, ecological restoration or biodiversity conservation experience.
Experience supporting environmental approvals, closure planning or environmental management programs.
