Job Description

(General Responsibilities):
Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer (“Sr. RCE”) is responsible for ensuring compliance of all Belkin products to global regulatory requirements. You must understand the standards relating to Safety/EMC/RF and Energy Efficiency. Must be able to guide product design teams on electromagnetic compatibility and interference issues. You will serve in a consultative capacity on Belkin regulatory compliance issues on national and international regulatory requirements. You must think analytically, interact with Engineering (ME and EE), ID (industrial design), PDM, PGM, test labs, regulatory authorities and multi task effectively.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Manage assigned projects. Review PRD (Product Requirement Document) during concept and planning and advice the team on the applicable required standards based on regions/countries listed in the PRD
• Create RC Test Plans, reviews test reports, and certificates
• Participate in weekly compliance meeting (Online/Conference Call) on projects status
• Guide product development teams on Safety/EMC/RF and Energy Efficiency compliance issues
• Inform Belkin PDM/PGM teams on the subject of new regulatory standards/updates well in-advance (12 months) to allows sufficient times for implementing into development
• Ensure suppliers, CM’s and ODM’s comply with domestic and international Regulatory Compliance requirements.
• Evaluate and interpret US, EU and other International regulations and standards with the objective of making the Company products compliant as well as managing risk with respect to product requirements.
• Assist in the development of tools and processes to enable other RC engineers to work with a reasonable level of autonomy
• Develop methodology and processes for product test plans, and ensure effective validation testing for compliance to applicable Safety/EMC/RF/Energy Efficiency and regional certification (GMA) requirements.
• Assist in internal or external TCB audits/investigations and analysis of any suspected non-compliant product / incident. Define and/or assist in definition of corrective action as necessary

• Guide post- incident investigation and problem resolution, advise team on risk exposures, follow up with action plans for related systems when warranted
• Support Regional and Sustaining RC Engineers in certifying new and maintaining current certification status of production product
• Monitor testing at 3rd party test and certification labs
• About 20% travel may be required for lab qualification and problem resolution
Education and Experience Requirements:
• BS in Engineering or Equivalent with 7 years of Safety and Energy Efficiency experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of International Regulatory Compliance experience in testing labs or authorities with focus in Safety and Energy Efficiency
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and regional certification (GMA) requirements for wall chargers, power banks and wireless earbuds
• Good understanding of global consumer electronics Safety and energy efficiency standards such as, such as UL/IEC62368-1, UL2056, UL2054, UL1642, UL/IEC62133-2, EN50075, BS1363-1, AS/NZS3112, DOE/CEC/NRCan, etc. is a must
• Candidate must be able to write technical documents clearly and concisely. Candidate must have knowledge of local certification processes and must be able to interact with local certification authorities
• Must be comfortable working with Microsoft Suite and creating presentations
• Conduct or assist in internal investigations and analysis of any non-compliant product / incident. Define and/or assist in definition of corrective action as necessary.
• Maintain international RC Standards Library and support tracking budgets, invoices, schedule, etc.
• Understanding of EMCRF/environmental / sustainability requirements such as FCC part 15B/C, RSS-102/216, EN55032/55035, CA. Prop 65, RoHS, REACH etc... is also a plus but not a must
