Crescent Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Accountant, Severance Tax to join our Houston-based Accounting organization. This position will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and supporting the Company's Texas oil and natural gas severance tax reporting, compliance, and accounting activities. The role will support monthly and annual tax filings, tax accruals, account reconciliations, audit responses, exemption administration, and related regulatory reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of direct Texas severance tax experience, and a strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting processes. This role requires a collaborative professional who can effectively partner with Revenue Accounting, Production Reporting, Land, Operations, and Finance teams while contributing to process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of Texas severance tax regulations, production and ownership reporting concepts, and upstream oil and gas accounting practices.
This position reports to the Regulatory Accounting Manager.
