
The New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa is the professional body for barristers and solicitors in New Zealand. The Law Society regulates all lawyers practising in New Zealand and is the membership organisation for practising lawyers. With 13 branch offices throughout the country, the Law Society is the Kaitiaki (guardian) of the practise of law in Aotearoa New Zealand and the consumers of legal services.
The Senior Registry Advisor works within the Professional Standards Registry Team, providing advice and analysis on “non-standard” applications and working closely with the Team Leader Registry to ensure that Law Society decision makers are provided with robust, evidence-based advice on regulatory applications. The role manages and progresses non-standard regulatory applications, including preparing recommendation and decision papers and acting as a contact with applicants, legal practitioners and other stakeholders. The Senior Registry Advisor ensures non-standard regulatory applications are progressed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with statutory requirements, while supporting continuous improvement and the effectiveness of the Law Society’s Registry functions.
This is a part-time role working 18.75 hours per week (days of work to be negotiated).
