Job Description

Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. • Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings. • Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation. • Understand and analyse the assessment information and data. • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues. • Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care. • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders. • Record vital signs, recognize, address and escalate all abnormalities. • Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice. • Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment. • Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations. • Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation etc. • Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment. • Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions. • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions. • Provide wound care management. • Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed. • Facilitate the process of safe patient`s admission, transfer and discharge.

  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals or allied health teams in various clinical settings.
  • Perform systematic patient assessments and reassessments, collecting pertinent data regarding the patient's health condition.
  • Analyse assessment findings and clinical data to support informed decision-making.
  • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and patient care priorities.
  • Define expected and predicted outcomes for the patient's plan of care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families.
  • Record and monitor vital signs, recognizing, addressing, and escalating any abnormalities promptly.
  • Maintain and continuously update technical and clinical competencies related to nursing practice.
  • Implement strategies to promote patient health, safety, and a therapeutic environment.
  • Interpret and understand diagnostic tests and laboratory investigations.
  • Perform essential life support procedures within the regulatory scope of practice, including but not limited to Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac L ife Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Administer medications safely and monitor patients for therapeutic effects, side effects, and adverse reactions.
  • Administer treatments such as intravenous (IV) fluids and blood products, while monitoring for any complications or reactions.
  • Provide comprehensive wound assessment and wound care management.
  • Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive medical procedures as required.
  • Facilitate the safe admission, transfer, and discharge of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a valid Registered Nurse license from the relevant regulatory health authority, with all required qualifications and experience.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and renewing professional licensure as required by the regulatory authority.
  • Hold a valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification.
  • Be willing and flexible to work across departments as required by operational needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Desirable Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Possess strong organizational and administrative skills, including proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal communication skills in Arabic.
