Job Description

Are you ready to lead our commercial agenda and unlock the next wave of growth for Arla in Italy?

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of a strategically important market and develop Arla’s Italian business through our distributor partnership with Eurofood. You will combine strategic direction with hands-on commercial leadership, accelerating profitable growth across Lurpak®, Starbucks® and, over time, other categories in Arla’s portfolio. Italy also represents a significant private-label business, which will be an important part of your responsibilities.

Based at our office in Carlsberg Byen, Copenhagen, you will join Arla’s ROW Distributor Sales organisation and report directly to the Cluster Head of Europe. The Italian market is operated through our distributor setup with Eurofood, making close cooperation, clear priorities and strong partner leadership essential to success.

How you will make an impact

You will be responsible for driving profitable and sustainable growth in Italy, with full ownership of the commercial agenda and P&L. Together with Eurofood, you will shape the long-term business strategy, translate it into ambitious annual plans and ensure that joint priorities create measurable impact in the market.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • Own and develop the Italian business with full P&L accountability, balancing profitable growth with long-term market development.
  • Shape the long-term strategy and annual business plans together with Eurofood, establishing clear commercial priorities and performance expectations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and develop competitive pricing, volume and forecasting plans across branded and private-label business.
  • Accelerate the growth and execution of Lurpak®, Starbucks® and other relevant categories by ensuring strong brand, category and in-market performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Eurofood and internal partners across Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Product Management to turn plans into effective execution.

The position offers a high degree of autonomy and broad exposure across the European business. It includes approximately 20 to 30 travel days per year.

What will make you successful

You are a commercially driven sales leader with sound judgement and the ability to create results through external partners. You have a higher education in Business, Commerce or a related field and at least five years of experience in international FMCG sales. Experience managing distributor-led markets is important, and you are comfortable taking full responsibility for a P&L and making commercially sound decisions based on financial and market insights.

You combine strategic thinking with hands-on follow-up and can translate ambitious growth objectives into focused plans and consistent execution. Strong financial understanding and solid IT skills enable you to work confidently with forecasts, pricing, volumes and performance development. You communicate fluently in English and Italian and work effectively across functions, organisations and cultures.

Personally, you bring ownership, collaborative leadership and resilience. You establish clear direction while building trusted relationships, and you remain focused and adaptable when priorities or market conditions change. Your ability to influence stakeholders and bring people together around a shared commercial agenda will be central to your success.

What do we offer?

You will join a purpose-driven organisation where ownership, collaboration and ambition go hand in hand. This is a challenging international position with genuine commercial impact, considerable autonomy and the opportunity to help shape the future of Arla’s business in Italy and across Europe.

We are committed to professional development and promoting from within. Our positive and collaborative culture is designed to bring out the best in you, while giving you the support and opportunities needed to continue developing as a commercial leader.

Would you like to join us?

If you would like to lead the continued development of Arla’s business in Italy, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
