Reed Early Years is a specialist division within Reed Education, supporting nurseries, pre-schools, early years settings, and childcare providers across England and Wales. With more than 25 years’ experience in education recruitment and a nationwide office network, we are trusted to deliver high-quality, compliant staffing solutions in one of the most vital and regulated sectors in education.

Our Reed Early Years team focuses on permanent, temporary, and supply recruitment of early years professionals including qualified and unqualified Early Years practitioners, Room Leaders, Nursery Managers, SEND support, and support staff. Our service is built on an ethical, child-centred approach with safeguarding, compliance, and quality at its core.

We’re looking for an experienced recruitment consultant who understands the unique demands of early years and childcare This is a fast-paced, people-driven sector where relationships, reliability, and compliance are critical. Your knowledge of early years settings, staffing challenges, and EYFS requirements will be key to building trusted partnerships with nurseries and early childhood education professionals.

Day-to-Day of the Role

  • Source, interview, register and support a strong candidate pool of early years professionals.
  • Coordinate, deliver and manage training and CPD to continually upskill our workforce and deliver meaningful outcomes to our clients.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing early years clients, including nurseries, pre-schools, and childcare providers.
  • Proactively identify and engage new business through phone-based sales and business development.
  • Attend client meetings to convert non-users into active Reed Early Years partners.
  • Foster strong working relationships with early years training providers and programmes, offering employment opportunities to their students and continually developing our qualified workforce.
  • Match candidates effectively to client requirements, ensuring quality, cultural fit, and safeguarding standards.
  • Achieve KPI targets while adhering strictly to compliance, safeguarding, and audit processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in recruitment, resourcing, or sales (education or early years experience is highly advantageous).
  • Understanding of early years environments, EYFS, or childcare recruitment challenges is desirable.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Proactive, resilient, and target-driven mindset.
  • A strong ethical approach to recruitment, with safeguarding and compliance at the forefront.
