As a Senior Recruiter supporting the Microsoft AI (MAI) organization, one of Microsoft’s fastest-growing businesses, you will build and execute talent strategies that enable MAI to attract and hire AI research and engineering talent. As a trusted advisor to leaders and hiring managers, you will bring deep talent market expertise, develop differentiated sourcing and engagement strategies, and navigate complex candidate situations to build the teams advancing MAI’s most critical work.

Operating within MAI’s agile, mission-driven environment, where cross-functional squads work in rapid planning cycles, you will translate evolving business and technical priorities into focused hiring strategies and build new approaches where traditional recruiting playbooks may not apply. This role requires deep experience with highly sought-after technical talent, business and technical acumen, and the judgment to balance urgency with patience while delivering a positive experience and maintaining an uncompromising bar for quality.

Responsibilities

Talent Strategy & Market Intelligence:

• Build and execute hiring strategies for MAI’s critical AI research and engineering talent needs, using business priorities, market intelligence, talent availability, and recruiting data to shape short- and long-term plans.
• Develop a deep understanding of the frontier AI talent landscape and translate market, competitor, and talent insights into actionable recommendations for the business.
• Identify emerging talent needs, gaps, and opportunities as MAI’s priorities evolve, adjusting recruiting strategies and building new approaches where established playbooks do not exist.

Talent Sourcing & Attraction:

• Build differentiated, multi-channel sourcing strategies to identify and engage highly sought-after AI research and engineering talent across frontier labs, technical communities, and adjacent markets.
• Develop long-term relationships with the talent and make networking and community building a consistent part of the recruiting rhythm.
• Partner with leaders to articulate a compelling MAI opportunity tailored to what matters to individual candidates, including the technical mission, team, impact, and career opportunity.

Strategic Client Partnership:

• Serve as a trusted recruiting advisor to research and engineering leaders, hiring managers, and HR partners, bringing an independent point of view and deep talent-market perspective.
• Translate evolving business and technical priorities into focused hiring strategies, using market insights to influence decisions, navigate tradeoffs, and maintain a high talent bar.
• Operate with significant autonomy, proactively identifying and unblocking issues and bringing together the right partners to keep critical hiring work moving.

Candidate Assessment, Experience & Closing:

• Own the candidate journey from engagement through assessment, offer, and closing, partnering with hiring teams to deliver a high-quality, inclusive experience and consistent selection practices.
• Develop bespoke engagement and closing strategies for sought-after candidates, anticipating individual motivations, concerns, dynamics, and other complexities.
• Navigate complex hiring situations across locations and stakeholders while maintaining candidate trust, recruiting excellence, data integrity, and compliance.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND demonstrable talent acquisition experience (e.g., recruiting, sourcing), HR experience, OR industry experience related to role OR equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience managing VP+ client groups, co-founder/founder, and first-time managers.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working in a frontier lab/company, hiring extremely sought after AI Research and Engineering talent.
• Experience building and executing complex hiring strategies to attract top talent

Ability to work from the London office three days per week.

Talent Acquisition IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 70,300.00 - £ 133,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
