The TELUS Health App is a Total Wellbeing Platform sold to companies across the globe. It is the first port of call for employees to get support, help and advice on issues affecting their work and home lives. This can range from reading a useful article on a mental health issue, carrying out a financial assessment or even speaking to a counsellor. The App also includes fitness tracking features and integrations; perks and benefits such as gift cards; and social recognition features. All of which help support employee well-being.
How We Do It
Our platform is expanding globally, and with this expansion comes new challenges such as
distributed data storage, and processing and performance improvements.
Our team work at every stage of the software development life cycle - designing solutions, writing and testing code, and automating deployments. They also collaborate with our web, iOS, Android, QA, infra and product teams to deliver for our customers and users.
Our team likes to foster a friendly and welcoming work environment where developers can learn and grow. Team members attend conferences and meet-ups, and we regularly run team
workshops to discuss and share new ideas and technologies. This helps us drive innovation and develop an effective basis for future developments.
What We’re Looking For
Skilled developers who are willing engage in, but not limited to, the following areas:
• Develop React components that align with our health and wellbeing vision, ensuring a
user-centric and intuitive experience
• Work collaboratively, weaving in GraphQL and Apollo functionalities for a fluid data flow in
our health solutions
• Uphold our commitment to code excellence, ensuring our platforms serve our users with
reliability and resonance
• Stay agile and proactive, consistently rolling out health tech innovations to our audience
While technical skills are important they are not of primary importance. The TELUS Health
engineering team are looking for positive people who want to learn and help their teammates
solve problems and build new things. We value communication skills, teamwork and those who can help mentor their colleagues so our whole team learns and grows. If you want to work with new technologies in a positive environment we believe TELUS Health will be a good place for you.
• A minimum of 3+ years experience in front-end development.
• Knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+)
• Knowledge of ReactJS / Redux or Apollo
• Capability in Sass (SCSS) for crafting visually compelling and responsive designs
• Knowledge of Git workflows and best practices
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs
Experience releasing to the Apple Store and Google Play Store in the React is a must.
Exposure to TypeScript, GraphQL, and Jest
• Knowledge of Webpack / Vite for optimal code bundling
• Knowledge of Web Application Security best practices
• Exposure to AWS / Google Cloud services
• Understanding localisation tools, i.e. Lokalise
• Experience working with agile methodology
• Knowledge of and proven experience using AI tooling
