Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer – High Voltage to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will take on significant responsibility for the development and delivery of innovative products and technologies. Contribute to shaping technology strategies and project portfolios, helping guide the direction of the organization
Work on complex engineering tasks using advanced and innovative techniques to deliver impactful R&D results
Take on project leadership responsibilities or play a key role within project teams, while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
Stay up to date with key trends and technologies in your field and proactively drive improvements in operations and customer satisfaction
Act as a subject matter expert, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge to foster collaboration and innovation within the team
Support business operations and customers as a technical expert and represent the team in internal and external engineering forums
Contribute to intellectual property strategy, identify risks, and support effective risk management in R&D projects
Your background
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
5–10 years of experience in R&D or engineering, preferably in high voltage equipment or components
Strong expertise in the design and development of high voltage components (experience with bushings is an advantage)
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Solid understanding of business processes and R&D environments
Proven experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
Basic understanding of intellectual property considerations in R&D
