In this role, you will support the team and contribute to achieving successful results in global research & development projects working in our Transformer Business Unit in Monselice (PD).

How you'll make an impact

  • Independently lead and manage R&D projects, ensuring on-time delivery within the allocated budget, and with the required quality.
  • Perform dielectric, magnetic and/or magnetothermal finite element simulations for transformers. These simulations will be mainly performed for projects or for troubleshooting assistance to various factories within your area of expertise.
  • Perform transformer electrical design and/or design review and supervise the manufacturing and testing of new solutions and prototypes according to technical project specifications based on the needs of technology management, product managers, factories and related domain experts.
  • Assist R&D project managers across different locations, as well as global product managers, with project business case preparation, cost evaluation for new R&D products, market introduction plans, and related activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, research centers, cross functional R&D and engineering teams, proposing partnerships and innovative solutions.
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to the introduction of new technologies and new scientific solutions.
  • Share knowledge and results through technical reports, specifications, and participation in training or educational initiatives.
  • Document R&D results in the form of technical reports and presentations.
  • Support and contribute to failure analysis activities and to failure‑prevention programs.

Your background

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering (or recognized equivalent) with 5+ years’ experience in Power Transformer electrical design and/or design review with finite element tools. Hands-on experience with large-scale and multi-year projects is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong understanding of product development practices, and proven capability to work in a structured and methodical manner.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Python or other programming languages is considered a plus.
  • Experience with advanced finite element simulations (e.g., magnetic and/or dielectric), proficiency in commercial simulation tools (such as Ansys, Simcenter/Infolytica, or Comsol), and the ability to develop custom solutions are highly valued.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple key stakeholders and colleagues across remote locations.
  • Knowledge of production machinery, manufacturing processes, and standards related to power transformers.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate diverse teams, as well as coach, motivate, and inspire others.
  • You are innovative, creative, and proactively challenge existing approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken).
