Senior R&D Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer to develop and optimize technically complex software in a C++ and Linux-based environment. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and team coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, design, develop, test, debug, and optimize software components.
• Work with complex existing systems and technical documentation.
• Lead and coach development teams and provide technical guidance.
• Contribute to Agile development processes in a leading role.
• Manage software build, CI/CD, release, and versioning processes.
• Develop high-performance and technically critical software solutions.
• Collaborate on R&D initiatives and troubleshoot complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
• Strong experience with C++, Linux, Git, and CI/CD.
• Proven experience in an R&D or technically complex environment.
• Experience leading and coaching development teams.
• Strong programming, testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of CMake, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with embedded or high-performance software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Python, SIP, or 3GPP/MCX is a plus.
• Experience with telecom, communication, or mission-critical systems is advantageous.
• Dutch: CEFR C2/native-level proficiency.
