  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to execute product development and sustaining engineering projects from concept through release.
  • Conduct and lead design reviews to ensure designs meet safety, reliability, manufacturability, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Develop and release component and assembly drawings using ASME standards and applicable Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Support engineering change management, product release activities, and sustaining engineering efforts while ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and design controls.
  • Contribute to risk management activities, including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), risk assessments, and related design history documentation.
  • Apply regulatory and quality requirements, including Food and Drug Administration (FDA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and Design Control requirements, throughout development and sustaining projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and review support to engineering team members while leading projects through milestone reviews and stage-gate approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8 to 12 years of product development experience in a regulated engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as PTC Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) or SolidWorks, including robust modeling and detailed drawing creation.
  • Strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-up analysis, and application of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting medical device product development activities, including design controls, technical documentation, and engineering change management processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and global teams to deliver engineering projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS Workbench and application of modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and engineering change processes, including tools such as Agile or PTC Windchill.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards, including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Experience supporting Design History File (DHF) deliverables, risk management documentation, sterilization documentation, or biocompatibility documentation.
