The Sr Rapid Response Officer will provide technical support and guidance and oversee the implementation of the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) emergency response activities in Madagascar, directing other professional staff and the Outbreak response teams as needs are identified in the region and in country office. The Sr Rapid Response Officer will support the Ministry of Public Health’s directorates and programs to conduct assessments of the country's preparedness for epidemics, in accordiance with the global and national Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) and intra- or after-action reviews. S/He will collaborate and engage with STRIDES technical staff and Outbreak response team members to ensure that the project’s emergency response activities are aligned with approved workplans and that technical expertise informs project implementation and national SOPs. S/He will implement and monitor technical strengthening initiatives, develop a training strategy, facilitate training and other capacity building activities, and create scientific or other technical materials. The Sr Rapid Response Officer will prepare deliverable reports to the donor highlighting achievements across STRIDES Objective 4/emergency response activities, including the drafting of publications and external communications. S/He leads the development/revision of best practice documents and may be required to coordinate and work with a diverse group of in-country organizations, including USG and host country government counterparts to respond to emergency outbreak response.
The expected hiring salary range for this role is MGA 61,430,000 - 75,000,000 for annual basic salary. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, market pay, and budget. For internal candidates, salary placement will also follow FHI 360’s current promotional increase guidelines.
