Job Description

We’ve been proudly serving Australian communities since 1914 and have grown to become a top 30-listed company on the ASX with a portfolio of iconic homegrown brands. At the heart of our continued success is over 115,000 team members working across the country, all contributing to bringing our customers smiles. You’ll not only get to see your work make a difference, you’ll be part of a team working together to help Australians eat and live better every day.

About the team

Store Development is redefining retail design. Our team is constantly challenging possibilities. We work with innovative formats and concepts to connect with customers and enhance their in-store experiences, no matter the size or layout of our stores.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Range, Space & Systems, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping how we plan, manage and deliver range and space across the business. You’ll lead transformation, strengthen our processes and governance, and help our teams deliver ranges that better meet the needs of our customers and stores.

You’ll also:

  • Shape and evolve our range and space strategy, with a focus on delivering great value and more tailored customer offers.
  • Lead transformation initiatives that simplify and improve how ranges are built, managed and delivered.
  • Own and improve the end-to-end range review process, creating clear and consistent ways of working.
  • Develop and embed strong governance frameworks that support effective and transparent decision-making.
  • Manage the range review calendar and demand planning, balancing business priorities, workload and team capacity.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Store Development and other key functions to align priorities and deliver change.
  • Lead resource and capability planning across Range & Space, identifying opportunities to strengthen skills and ways of working.
  • Lead, coach and develop your team, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture.

About you and your skills

You’re an experienced and commercially minded leader who can see the big picture while still getting things done. You’re comfortable working through complexity, bringing structure to ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders across a large organisation. Importantly, you’re a collaborative people leader who enjoys bringing teams together, challenging existing ways of working and turning strategy into practical outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • Extensive experience in retail, FMCG or a complex commercial environment, ideally within a centralised function.
  • A strong commercial and customer mindset, with the ability to connect strategy to practical business outcomes.
  • Experience in range and space management or demand/resource planning would be highly regarded.
  • Proven experience leading strategy, transformation and change initiatives.
  • Experience delivering complex programs and projects while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience coaching, developing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly when working across functions and with senior leaders.
  • Strong experience in process improvement, governance and continuous improvement.

What’s in it for you?

  • Flexible working options: We know that work is only one part of your life, so we actively encourage a positive work-life balance and provide hybrid working options to help you achieve it.
  • Office perks: Take advantage of our gym facility and fitness classes, free parking, BBQ area, mini-Coles supermarket, fooderie hub where you can sample new products before they hit the shelves, school holiday program and so much more when you come in.
