Summary:
As Senior Rail Engineer you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of rail infrastructure. Your experience and leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our rail projects, from concept through construction. You will work with clients, lead and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the delivery or high-quality rail solutions. You will apply techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks. This position performs routine technical work that requires previous experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in project planning.
- Handless administrative tasks to support project management
- CAD Design: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for rail infrastructure and related components.
- Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of rail design principles to solve complex engineering challenges including developing detailed construction cost estimates and project specifications.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with a team of engineers in Mexico and U.S. to provide technical support in the development of rail projects, ensuring design meets quality and client standards.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data relevant to rail projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with design requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure designs are error-free and meet client standards.
- Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior engineers and designers, providing guidance and support to promote their professional growth.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Advanced English level - written and spoken is required.
- Proven leadership skills - experience leading design and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and Civil 3D) is required.
- Microstation, InRail and Open Rail experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of rail industry regulations, codes and standards.
- Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
- Proficiency with electronic communication, including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

Required Education and

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of prior experience

Preferred Education and

Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
