About the role

D-Wave is seeking aSeniorQuantum Engineer to join our Quantum Design and Architecture group, focused on developing next-generation dual-rail quantum processors. This role sits at the intersection of quantum processor architecture, device physics, RF engineering, and cross-functional execution, with a strong emphasis on system-level thinking.

The work is inherently forward-looking and exploratory, involving pathfinding, de-riskingnew ideas, and translating theoretical concepts into scalable hardware designs. You willwork ondefining, implementing, and evaluatingnew processor architectures and device concepts,collaboratingclosely with teams across design, fabrication, andtest.

What you'll do

  • Drivingthe design and analysis of dual-rail quantum processors, including qubits, couplers,readout,quantum-limited amplifiers,and related circuit elements
  • Apply quantum device physics and circuit theory to improve performance, robustness, and scalability of quantum hardware
  • SupportRF andmicrowave engineering efforts related to control, readout, and system integration
  • Work onexploratory and path-finding projects aimed at enabling future processor generations
  • Collaborateclosely with fabrication, mechanical, and device assembly teamsto ensure designs are compatible with manufacturing constraints and capabilities
  • Collaborate withmeasurement and characterizationteams to defineexperimentalprotocols,and metrics needed to evaluatenew designs
  • Develop,maintain, orimprove internal tools and workflows for circuit design, simulation, and analysis
  • Generate detailed and clear technical documentationsto support team decision-making

About You

  • PhD withPost-Docexperience, or equivalent work experience; or MS with 3+ years of work experience in physics, applied physics, electricalengineeringora relatedfield.
  • Experienceinsuperconducting quantum devices,with solid foundation in device physics, circuit modeling, and RF/microwave engineering
  • Expertiseinelectromagnetic simulation tools, circuit simulators,andlayout tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment spanning theory, design, fabrication, and test
  • Clear technical communication skills, both written and verbal
