Job Description

Our client, a leading semi state organisation, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Networks & Civil, Environmental Engineering team based in Dublin. This is a hybrid position with a mix of office, remote working and site travel, offering the opportunity to work on major national infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial expertise, stakeholder management skills, and experience delivering large-scale civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert commercial advice and risk identification across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Manage all aspects of cost, contract and commercial risk throughout the full project lifecycle
• Lead the preparation of tender documentation including BOQs using ARM 5 and evaluate returned tenders
• Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with approved capital expenditure budgets
• Collaborate with internal teams, design professionals, and external contractors to ensure commercial objectives are met
• Support procurement processes and contribute to contract strategy across various delivery models including D&B and EPC
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff while promoting best practice and knowledge sharing
• Lead negotiations on contracts, claims, and final accounts to achieve value for stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, reporting, and contract management procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years’ post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract
• Proven experience in cost estimating, tendering, and post-contract commercial management
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (Level 8)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites across Ireland
