Job Description
A leading organisation in the UK transmission and distribution sector requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a range of high voltage (HV) projects, voltage levels from 33kV - 400kV.
Role:
- Management of commercial and contract activities
- Procurement schedules
- Make sure sub-contractor and supplier agreements are managed in accordance with company policies
- Use the company costing system to allocate and code costs
- Provide regular updates of cost information to make sure milestones are met
- Payment applications
- Update and review contract obligations
- Analyse Tender V Construction Costs
- Management of sub-contractor accounts
- Help project managers in the selection of sub-contractors, draft contracts, process payments and control the variations
- Take part in meetings with the estimating team
- Lead on contract negotiations, as well as project milestones and payment terms
- Liaise with stakeholders, such as sub-contractors and client - meet when required
- Liaise with colleagues regarding variations
- Inform senior management team of increases in project values and any other commercial matters that may impact company performance
- Provide cost reports to Commercial Manager on a monthly basis
Requirements:
- Hold suitable qualification, such as a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the HV, power engineering, utilities, civils or construction sectors
