
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Defence & General Works Projects
Location: Bristol | Hybrid working
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + car allowance + excellent package
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We’re working with a leading contractor to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Defence & General Works team, delivering projects up to £10m across the South West.
This role offers a strong mix of Defence schemes, fit-outs, and smaller general works, providing variety alongside real commercial ownership.
Lead commercial delivery from pre-contract through to final account
Manage cost control, forecasting, and reporting
Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, and variations
Drive change management and value recovery
Work closely with project teams to maximise profitability
Identify and manage commercial risks across multiple projects
You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects achieve strong commercial outcomes and meet performance targets.
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
Strong experience managing construction projects commercially
Good knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts
Confident managing subcontractors and multiple schemes
Defence experience advantageous but not essential
Projects up to £10m across Defence & general works
Key role within a growing, supportive team
