Job Description

Our client, a Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Dublin, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, retrofit, industrial, and other large-scale projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead cost management and commercial strategy across multiple high-profile developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing budgets, valuations, procurement, and reporting, while working closely with project teams and clients. To be successful, the preferred candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in managing complex construction contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple projects.
• Prepare and submit accurate valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Lead procurement processes including subcontractor selection and contract negotiation.
• Monitor project costs and provide regular commercial reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and risk management procedures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure alignment on financial matters.
• Support project delivery teams with cost control and value engineering initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company and industry standards.
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to team development.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior QS role, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor.
• Proven experience across commercial, residential, industrial, and retrofit projects.
• Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in cost management software and reporting tools.
