Senior Quality Supervisor

Role Purpose
The Senior Quality Supervisor – Drilling & Well Services is responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) function across the Drilling & Well Services Department of Mubadala Energy Indonesia to ensure offshore well construction (drilling) campaigns are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project quality requirements, company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The role acts as the focal point for establishing and maintaining the Department Quality Management System (QMS), developing quality processes and controls, monitoring quality performance, and ensuring alignment with the overarching Project Quality Plan throughout the drilling campaign lifecycle.
This position is accountable for driving quality governance across drilling operations through contractor and vendor quality management, audit execution, quality surveillance, non-conformance investigation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to support operational integrity and project delivery objectives.
The incumbent will work closely with Drilling, Wells, Engineering, Supply Chain, HSE, Project, and contractor teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated across planning, mobilization, offshore execution, and campaign close-out phases. The role also supervises QA/QC coordinators located in Jakarta and operational shorebases and supports compliance with SKK Migas, MIGAS, and applicable international oil and gas quality standards to achieve successful delivery of Mubadala Energy Indonesia's drilling and well services objectives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Supervise and monitor quality assurance and quality control activities for offshore well construction, drilling, and well services operations.
Ensure compliance with Mubadala Energy Indonesia's quality management system, drilling procedures, project specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Review and verify contractors' and vendors' quality plans, inspection and test plans, quality control procedures, and related documentation.
Conduct inspection, surveillance, and quality audits for drilling equipment, materials, services, and contractor activities.
Monitor quality performance during offshore drilling campaigns and ensure that all quality requirements are properly implemented at site.
Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformances, quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspection records, certification, material records, test reports, and quality dossiers.
Coordinate with drilling, well services, procurement, logistics, engineering, HSE, contractors, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure quality requirements are met.
Support vendor and contractor performance evaluations from a quality perspective.
Participate in technical and quality reviews, pre-job meetings, readiness reviews, and operational planning sessions.
Ensure that all critical equipment and materials used for drilling and well services meet the required specifications and acceptance criteria.
Provide quality input for risk assessment, lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational performance reviews.
Prepare regular quality reports, quality performance summaries, and issue tracking updates for management review.
Promote a strong quality culture among internal teams, contractors, and service providers.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
Master's Degree is an advantage.
Professional certification in Quality Management or Chartered Quality qualification is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, or quality supervision within the oil and gas industry.
Strong experience in offshore drilling, well construction, well services, or upstream oil and gas operations is preferred.
Experience working with drilling contractors, service companies, third-party inspection agencies, and equipment/material vendors.
Solid understanding of quality requirements for offshore drilling campaigns, including equipment inspection, certification, material traceability, and contractor quality performance.
Previous experience in a supervisory or senior quality role is highly preferred.
Experience working in international oil and gas operators or major upstream projects would be an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, QA/QC principles, inspection processes, and audit practices.
Good understanding of offshore drilling, well construction, and well services activities.
Familiarity with relevant oil and gas standards, codes, and industry practices, such as ISO 9001, API standards, and other applicable quality requirements.
Strong ability to review quality plans, inspection and test plans, procedures, certificates, and technical documentation.
Good knowledge of non-conformance management, root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action processes.
Strong coordination skills with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and third-party inspection agencies.
Good analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Strong communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and support offshore campaign requirements.
High attention to detail with strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
