Job Description

In this role, the Senior Quality Manager is responsible for driving quality culture and operational improvements throughout the ITR value stream. Partnering with the regional function teams, this position will be responsible for driving customer experience and operational improvements through Quality Planning, Assurance, Control and Improvement.
You will drive a Culture of Quality where quality is built-in to the planning process, enabling teams to do their work right the first time, where processes are followed in execution, where shortcomings and defects are captured as non-conformances, where problems are fed back into the organization for accountability and resolution, and where ideas and lessons learned are captured for future improvement. You will help front-line and back-office teams resolve problems (i.e. NCR, RCA) and act as an experienced culture change agent with a track record of delivery.
As the face to the customer, you will assure that customer quality requirements are captured during tendering and considered during outage execution. You are acting as point of contact for quality & lean to drive improvements and issue resolution based on customer’s feedback.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide strong Quality leadership in support of business priorities
  • Lead Quality for all commercial operations activities including leadership for any Quality & Lean topics
  • With the Commercial/ITO & CMU function build a Quality Culture throughout the organization – one where defects are not accepted, created, or passed-on
  • Drive the full implementation of the Quality Management System by communication of requirements, perform internal Audits, take responsible for any external quality audit in the EMENAT Region and drive compliance improvement
  • Support the outage end2end process definition and development
  • Lead analysis, and regular operating rhythm around Quality metrics including Customer Experience and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Apply Quality Planning, Assurance and Control methodologies to improve process capability and thereby improve all Quality metrics
  • Manage the NCR process including driving increased capture and faster resolution
  • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis including overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
  • Facilitate Kaizens & workshops impacting business operations KPIs (SQDC)
  • Work with operations leaders to create a roadmap of continuous improvement projects and track the implementation and impact on customer facing metrics:
    • Lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams to drive standardization and simplification
    • Explore, evaluate, and codify best practices while ensuring new methods are formalized in the Quality Management System

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred in engineering or equivalent experience in field service (maintenance, installation) or quality
  • Likely to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and demonstrated success/knowledge in a quality role
  • Experience in successfully managing and developing multi-discipline teams (Event Management, Field Service, Parts, Repairs, Operations), preferably with international reach
  • Native or fluent language skills for area of responsibility and ability to communicate and work effectively in English
  • Change agent with strong credibility, communication and influencing skills and the proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to become supporters
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve results
  • A procedure mindset and ability to implement procedures and monitor compliance
  • Role model Safety, Quality and Compliance centered ways of working
  • To act according to the regulatory requirements of those bodies to which the organisational unit is accredited or may be in the future e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19443

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced level of knowledge of one or more: Steam turbine, generator, and power plant auxiliaries
  • Experience with repairs, on-site services (welding, diagnostics, NDT, …), installation etc.
  • Expertise of applicable TRS Technical Regulations & Standards
  • Advanced degrees in business or technical fields or industry certifications
  • Additional languages
  • Certified internal auditor, ISO9001 Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
