Job Description

Marshall Land Systems is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to join our team in Moncton, NB, or Ottawa, ON. Reporting to the Head of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment), the Senior Quality Manager will lead the Marshall Canada Holdings Inc. Quality program and establish and manage the team in support of the organization’s strategic direction.

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible to drive the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System, ensuring that the organization is fully compliant with applicable standards (including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other military standards)

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Manage the Quality Team by assigning responsibilities for Quality Management tasks.
  • Promote a Quality culture, including support to department managers and group leads in their taking ownership of processes and procedures that guide their department operations.
  • Oversee the schedule and manage all related audits and coordinate with all Departments as required. Analyze and interpret audit results and introduce and control resulting actions required.
  • Drive local performance to the global initiatives & KPIs for quality.
  • Ensuring the Company’s global quality strategy is implemented through effective policies, processes, and procedures that are properly resourced and effectively executed to meet all necessary national regulatory standards.
  • Oversee, plan, and conduct the organization’s Annual Audit Program and host applicable 3rd Party Auditors where applicable.
  • Align the structure and requirements for QMS documentation, oversee the management of QMS documents.
  • Work closely with operations team to identify opportunities for improvement in the manufacturing process and department risk management activities.
  • Establish and oversee quality procedures for operational processes to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
  • Responsible for overseeing Quality Control for all programs from development to serial production.
  • Work closely with Product Safety department to ensure all required documentation is completed on time for the Certificate of Safety signoffs & Customer delivery.
  • Ensuring appropriate quality standards are developed, implemented, and implemented for components and raw materials being received, as well as finished goods being produced.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the records of audit (including non-conformances) in the online Quality software system and facilitate cross-functional sessions to ensure progression of closure for Corrective Actions.
  • Oversee the conduct of investigations and root cause analysis for quality incidents and implement effective corrective actions, as/when required.
  • Oversee MRB meetings and ensure timely disposition of non-conforming materials and analyze data to identify trends.
  • Oversee activities with regards to the identification and coordination of all required testing activities with external test sites to meet customer requirements.
  • Report progress on the audit program, non-conformances, trends and escalations to management, as/when required.
  • Provide and/or support quality training for Marshall Canada Holdings Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • At least 7 years’ experience supervising a quality department in a defense or manufacturing company.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in leading audits.
  • Familiar with various Industry Standards and military specifications including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
  • Certified Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 current revision and be willing to upgrade training, as required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite is essential.
  • Understanding of Q-Pulse or other QMS Software tools.
  • Experience with DND systems is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
