CHSEM provides high‑power semiconductor devices to Hitachi Energy internal customers (e.g. HVDC, GPQSS) as well as to external customers.
The Senior Material Quality Engineer ensures the quality, robustness, and long‑term reliability of critical raw materials used in BiMOS semiconductor device production at the Lenzburg fabrication facility. Acting as a technical authority, the role independently manages complex material‑ and supplier‑related quality topics, contributes to supplier quality strategy, and supports both supplier and team capability development to enable stable and scalable operations.
How you’ll make an impact
Drive the material quality approach for critical raw materials used in BiMOS operations
Define and continuously improve CTQ concepts and control strategies
Lead complex material quality investigations related to deviations, yield, and reliability issues
Monitor & develop supplier performance and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions
Lead material qualification, requalification, and change management activities
Support production with technical expertise during production, troubleshooting, and ramp-up phases
Drive cross-functional improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reliability, and cost efficiency
Act as a technical reference, supporting or mentoring engineers and strengthening supplier and team capabilities
Your background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in material quality, supplier quality, or semiconductor manufacturing
Certified auditor (VDA 6.3, ISO 19011, or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of material quality, process control, and risk management in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to independently manage complex material and supplier quality issues
Experience with structured quality methods such as 8D, Six Sigma, or equivalent
