Join Qantas in our brand-new Product Innovation Centre located in Adelaide to help us ensure consumer needs are met by embedding robust testing strategies and automation practices that uphold software reliability, performance, and security. Deliver seamless, high-quality digital experiences that build customer trust and satisfaction.

A Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for testing Qantas’ applications, as well as building out our test automation infrastructure and contributing to the continuous development of automation scripts, suite, improving and building CI infrastructure.  You’ll collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to design, automate, and execute testing strategies. You’ll be empowered to determine and implement the best solutions. Additionally, you will also be exploring non-functional testing, including accessibility, performance, and security, and improving on testing tools and test approach. Coordinate with team members to create automated test cases and analyse and resolve test failures.

You’ll have:

  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with direct hands-on experience in automation testing for various service integrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with BDD, CI/CD, Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Ability to define and execute test strategies that validate end-to-end user journeys, data flows, and system integrations.
  • Experience in implementing automated test scripts for service integrations, with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.
  • Proficiency with testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Karate, Postman, and JUnit.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, batch processing, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), and other point-to-point integrations.
  • Experience in conducting performance and load testing of integrated services to ensure scalability, reliability, and stability under varying conditions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills, with experience using tools such as Miro, Jira, and Confluence.
