Transaction Banking technology team focuses on delivering top-tier technology solutions to enable and grow the global GTB business.

The Senior Quality Engineer – Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the quality engineering strategy for applications and integrations supporting Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions products.

This role provides hands on leadership across test planning, automation, integration testing, non-functional validation, and release quality assurance to ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, operational, and customer expectations.Quality Engineering Lead partners closely with Business Systems Analysts, Solution Architects, Development Leads, Engineers, Product Owners, and Business stakeholders to promote a quality-first culture throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

The role combines technical expertise, people leadership, delivery oversight, and quality governance within a highly regulated banking environment where platform reliability, accuracy, resiliency, and auditability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Governance

  • Define and maintain the Quality Engineering strategy for Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions applications and integrations

  • Establish quality standards, testing frameworks, and governance processes aligned with enterprise technology standards

  • Ensure testing activities support regulatory, risk, audit, security, and compliance requirements

  • Develop and track quality metrics, KPIs, defect trends, and release-readiness indicators

  • Drive continuous improvement of testing practices, tooling, and delivery processes

Test Planning & Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee quality engineering activities across multiple initiatives and releases

  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, and non-functional testing

  • Review and approve test strategies, testing estimates, and quality plans

  • Ensure requirements, design artifacts, and test cases maintain full traceability

  • Partner with Development Leads and Product Owners to assess release readiness and production risk

Automation & Engineering Excellence

  • Define and drive the adoption of test automation strategies across applications and integrations

  • Establish frameworks supporting API, integration, regression, and end-to-end automation testing

  • Promote shift-left testing practices within Agile delivery teams

  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation, tooling, and CI/CD integration

  • Ensure testing environments, test data management practices, and automation assets support long-term quality objectives

Integration & End-to-End Testing

  • Lead testing efforts involving internal banking systems and third-party/vendor platforms

  • Ensure validation of complex integration flows between trade finance, payments, lending, treasury, accounting, and customer-facing systems

  • Coordinate end-to-end testing across multiple technology teams and business stakeholders

  • Validate data integrity, reconciliation processes, transaction lifecycle events, and exception management scenarios

  • Support onboarding and certification testing for new vendor platforms and integration partners

Non-Functional Testing & Release Assurance

  • Define quality standards for performance, resiliency, security, recoverability, and operational readiness

  • Ensure appropriate testing is conducted for availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and failover capabilities

  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to validate production readiness

  • Support release planning, defect triage, risk assessments, and deployment readiness reviews

  • Provide quality sign-off recommendations based on testing outcomes and risk tolerance

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Quality Engineers and Quality Analysts across the portfolio

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning

  • Support career development, succession planning, and capability growth within the quality engineering function

  • Establish best practices and reusable testing assets across teams

  • Promote strong collaboration between quality engineering, development, architecture, and business teams

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure quality objectives align with business outcomes

  • Act as the primary quality representative in delivery governance, release reviews, and steering discussions

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and implementation partners to ensure quality expectations are met

  • Communicate testing progress, quality risks, and mitigation plans to senior stakeholders

  • Support audit reviews and regulatory assessments related to solution quality and controls

Required Qualifications

Experience & Leadership Skills

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Quality Assurance roles

  • 5+ years of experience leading quality engineering teams within Banking or Financial Services environments

  • Proven experience managing quality assurance activities across complex enterprise technology programs

  • Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle, testing methodologies, and release management

  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities
