We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join us at our facility in Front Royal, VA.
The Senior Quality Engineer proactively improves product quality
This role will help the functions and manufacturing site exceed our customer expectations by designing and deploying processes to mitigate product risk
Reports to: Site Quality Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Executes and oversees the internal Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) process
Participate in the site internal audits to identify and address improvement opportunities
Maintains QN and CAPA metrics and strives for improvement in systems based on trended data
Implements advanced statistical methods, process automation, and predictive quality modeling
Performs root cause analysis utilizing 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices
Maintain the appropriate documents and files to align with the site Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards
Utilizes quality tools (process mapping, Failure modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans) to drive quality into processes
Executes sampling procedures and records inspection results
Completes detailed documentation and reports of all inspection activities in accordance with Company policy and customer specified requirements
Mentors junior quality staff
May direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Chemistry, or high school degree and equivalent experience
Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work efficiently in a team environment
Able to travel (less than 10% of total time)
Able to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment
Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or similar certification preferred
5+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering position
Experience in an automotive quality assurance environment is preferred
Experience in automotive coatings formulation and/or application is preferred
This is an active opening for which we are recruiting to fill immediately.
We consider an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience to determine final salary. This role is eligible for benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. The expected compensation range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 USD annually The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
