A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Senior Quality Engineer on the Plymouth Nathan Lane sustaining and project quality engineering team, you will be responsible for being the quality voice and executing on a broad range of projects. Projects supported in this role to support the Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) platform can span from capacity expansion, equipment end of life replacement, yield improvement, technology change implementation, quality improvement, and lean transformation initiatives. This role will collaborate with a wide cross-functional group both inside and outside the facility. This is an in-person/on-site role with very limited travel required.

This role is at the Plymouth Nathan Lane facility which supports the Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) Operating Unit (OU). The PVH OU brings our various peripheral vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Generate actionable ideas to increase better quality, safety, and yield while reducing cost and cycle time
  • Support the PMO road map by being the quality representative on projects at the site
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with site and OU representatives on project decisions and milestones
  • Make use of appropriate technical skills and tools, such as DOE, SPC, hypothesis testing, capability studies, Gemba walks, and “hands on” analysis, to perform in depth analysis, determine root cause, and identify corrective actions
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
  • Provide detailed engineering analysis and documentation in product disposition, process changes, and CAPA
  • Create and/or assist in the documentation including test plans and reports to demonstrate technical rational for project decisions (i.e. qualifications, risk assessments, and work instructions)
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering on technical abilities and applications

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience reviewing technical documentation
  • Previous process validation experience (including installation qualifications, process characterization, operational and performance qualifications)
  • Previous experience with developing, executing, and analysis of Test Method Validations
  • Previous experience with Master Validation Records and Risk Management documentation (including DFMEA and PFMEA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • General understanding of project management

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$98,400.00 - $147,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
