Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

This position will provide support for new model launch QA functions (PV) and NAP manufacturing quality improvement activities.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Maintain the North American Executive Performance (QD) Report. This report incorporates data from all NAP locations and is issued monthly to executive management.
  • Assist NAP locations, as needed, with quality improvement activity.
  • Support the development and implementation of a common North American PV/ Project Management System. This includes refining the operational manual, procedures and forms associated with this process and providing training and assistance to NAP locations in their implementation efforts. Schedule and communicate “joint” PV activities with AISIN Central Quality personnel.
  • Assist NAP locations during new product/process preparation. Develop and communicate QC Monitor reports and New Model Launch Summary Reports during and after new project activities.
  • Facilitate new model launch Internal OBEYA activity.
  • Support the development and implementation of a common Global QA Network tool. This includes refining the operational manual, procedures and forms associated with this process and providing training and assistance to NAP locations in their implementation efforts.
  • Assist in the development of a common North American Quality Management System (QMS:NA). The desired output is a common Quality Manual available to all NAP locations as a IATF16949 compliant Level I document maintained by AWA. This final document should also be aligned with the AISIN Global Quality Management System.
  • Support activities shown in association with the AISIN North American Quality Assurance annual job plan as well as the AISIN NA long term business plan.
  • Assist in the development of operational (Quality) manuals and training material for identified key quality methods and concepts. Plan, schedule, and deliver training sessions, as needed/requested, by AWA management or NAP locations.
  • Attend the monthly North American Quality Managers (NAQM) meeting.
  • Participate in the monthly AISIN NA Quality Group Meeting (AWA).
  • Work closely with the AWA-Seymour and AWA-Northville Quality staff to develop a “One AISIN” team attitude.
  • Provide Supervisory leadership to Quality Engineers.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 3 – 4+ years of quality experience
  • Ability to coordinate and negotiate with customer and AISIN facilities.
  • Root Cause Analysis/Troubleshooting capability
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience performing, planning or supporting high volume manufacturing operations is desired
  • Knowledge of Seven Basic QC Tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access

Education/Training/Certifications

  • BA/BS Preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 25 - 35 %
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
