Overview

The Senior QA Engineer in Test Automation is a position that combines skills in design; development; testing and quality assurance. Working as a senior software development engineer in test require computer science skills, communication skills and time management.

The Senior QA Engineer in Test is a computer industry professional who can design, build and configure test automation infrastructure, produce and assess programming code to make automated testing programs, lead peer reviews, make code reviews, assess the code and make changes as needed to enhance the end-user experience.

The successful candidate will bring expertise in modern testing frameworks, a strong background in software development, and a passion for quality assurance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet high standards of reliability, performance, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Plan and execute functional, regression, integration, performance, and other appropriate testing.
• Track test progress and results; maintain clear, accurate test documentation and communicate quality risks.
• Promote adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify, investigate, document, and verify defects, working with development teams through resolution.
• Participate in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and release processes by providing timely test feedback and quality assessments.
• Recommend and implement improvements to QA processes, test coverage, and testing efficiency.
• Assess test coverage for new and existing features and identify quality gaps.
• Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing strategies.
• Act as a subject matter expert in application functionality
• Provide technical leadership and mentor other QA engineers.

Qualifications

Education: 

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field, or equivalent work
• ISTQB or similar certification.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Development/SQA role
• Minimum 3 years of experience with web service testing and web service testing tools
• Experience testing web applications and web services; familiarity with test automation frameworks is an advantage.
• Experience with QA processes and methodologies, including manual and automated testing, black-box and white-box testing, load and performance testing, test case design, scripting, and execution.
• Experience with functional testing of multi-tier Web applications.
• Experience working with QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript) is an advantage.
• Comprehensive SQL, XML and JSON
