Role Mission: The QA Engineer will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing strategies, automation, and continuous quality improvement. This role is responsible for designing and executing test plans, developing automated test frameworks, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development and product teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The engineer will champion quality assurance best practices, integrate testing into CI/CD workflows, and drive continuous improvements in software quality, security, and user experience across the organization.
Accountabilities
Ensure software quality through effective test planning, execution, and defect management.
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Integrate quality assurance processes within CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
Monitor and report on software quality metrics, ensuring timely defect resolution and release readiness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing practices, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
Create and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using industry-standard tools.
Participate in requirements reviews and provide feedback to ensure testability and quality standards are met.
Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through to resolution.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid releases.
Perform API, database, and end-to-end testing across applications and platforms.
Monitor test results, analyze quality trends, and recommend process improvements.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, security requirements, and testing best practices.
Stakeholders
Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
Work closely with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Engage with Security teams to validate security testing requirements and compliance standards.
Support Business stakeholders by ensuring software releases meet quality expectations and customer requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 or more years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, or related roles.
Strong experience in manual and automated testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar frameworks.
Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, or equivalent.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of database testing and SQL queries.
Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
