ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a
Senior QA Automation Engineer
to design and own the E2E test automation architecture for a B2B procurement software platform, building a Playwright and JavaScript framework from an early-stage baseline. You will define the automation strategy, establish standards and patterns, build a stable regression suite covering critical user journeys, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines while mentoring a Middle QA Automation Engineer. The role requires 4+ years of QA automation experience and proven expertise designing test frameworks from scratch.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design and own the E2E test automation architecture and framework using Playwright + JavaScript from an early-stage baseline;
- Define the automation strategy: what to automate, at which layer, and how to keep the suite fast and reliable (page objects/commands structure, fixtures, test data, environment handling);
- Establish standards, patterns, and best practices for writing and maintaining tests; review and mentor the Middle AQA;
- Build a stable, prioritized E2E regression suite covering critical user journeys;
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and drive reporting, flake reduction, and test-run stability;
- Partner with the client’s developers and Engineering Excellence lead to embed quality practices across the team;
- Identify coverage gaps and risks, and continuously improve test quality, speed, and signal.
MUST HAVES

4+ years in QA with strong, hands-on automation experience

- Deep expertise with
Playwright and JavaScript for E2E web testing
;
- Proven experience
designing/architecting a test automation framework from scratch
;
- Solid understanding of
QA methodologies, the testing pyramid, and E2E/API/UI test design
;
- Experience integrating automated tests into
CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Git-based workflows
;
- Strong grasp of
web fundamentals (DOM, HTTP, REST APIs) and debugging flaky tests
;
- Detail-oriented, quality-obsessed mindset — the client’s #1 requirement;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Node.js / TypeScript applications; familiarity with Svelte and/or Next.js;
- API test automation and contract testing;
- Experience mentoring or leading a small QA team;
- Exposure to procurement, fintech, or other complex B2B enterprise domains;
- Familiarity with performance or accessibility testing.
