Senior Python Backend Developer (Energy Trading)

We are looking for an experienced Python Backend Developer to design and build scalable backend services supporting asset onboarding, contract management, and energy market operations. You will develop APIs, data pipelines, and real-time integrations while working with AWS cloud services and PostgreSQL in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Design and develop backend applications using Python.
• 
  Build APIs and data pipelines to integrate internal and external systems.
• 
  Develop real-time integrations using messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• 
  Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including time-series data models.
• 
  Utilize AWS services including RDS, S3, IAM, ECS, Lambda, and Docker.
• 
  Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable software solutions.
• 
  Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

Required Skills:

• 
  8–10 years of Python application development experience.
• 
  Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design and performance tuning.
• 
  Experience with AWS services, Docker, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations.
• 
  Knowledge of messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• 
  Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• 
  Fluent in English; Dutch or French is an advantage.

Nice to Have:

• 
  Experience in energy trading or renewable energy markets.
• 
  Knowledge of React and modern frontend technologies.
• 
  Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.

Contract Duration: 6 months
